Too often, the opportunity to travel to conferences like the ILP Summit are only available to a privileged few. At the Interledger Foundation we want to ensure a diverse range of voices are in the room as we discuss shaping financial inclusion through open protocols. Therefore, we are excited to announce 20 Travel Grants to members of the Interledger community, with a preference given to individuals applying from developing nations (please see list of countries that qualifies as Developing by the World Bank.) Each awardee will receive up to a $2,500 travel award for travel expenses and incidentals.

To be eligible for the Interledger Summit 2022 Travel Grant, the applicant:

  • Must be a member of the Interledger/Web Monetization Community (Join the community).
  • Must express interest/appreciation of the Interledger Protocol and open payments systems.
  • Be from a vulnerable or underrepresented community and/or population.

Application forms must be filled out in English.

Each applicant will be required to submit, at minimum, the following information:

  • Completed online application form.
  • Upload Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume, an estimated cost with proof for an economy class airfare; and related travel incidental expenses from home city/country to New Orleans.
  • Statement of purpose and expected learning objectives for attending the ILP Summit 2022.

Successful applicants for the ILP Summit Travel Grant are expected to:

  • Read, understand, and agree to abide by the Code of Conduct and COVID Policy
  • Attend the Summit in its entirety from November 12 to 13 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Meet the visa requirements for entry into the USA. Interledger Foundation can provide awardees with a letter to support their visa application if required.
  • Provide and upload a 250-word Summit post-event report to the Community Space (include photos where possible).
  • Allow the Interledger Foundation to use material from ILP Summit Travel Grant reports on our website, social media, and other promotional materials.

Please submit your applications no later than Tuesday, August 30, 2022, by 4:00 pm (EST).

Recipients must commit to travelling to the Summit upon receipt of the award. Kindly note that only one grant application can be made per person. Hotel rooms, to cover the 2-night period, have been blocked for awardees at the Marriott Warehouse Arts District in New Orleans.
